Lesson One:

Biblical Foundation

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:23-25

Key Points

Fundamental truths based on Hebrews 10:23-25:

- You are to hold fast to your confession of hope

- You are to remember God is faithful

- You are to stir up love and good works among the brethren

- You are to forsake not assembling together with others

- You are to exhort one another through fellowship

Applications

If you do not become a member of a local church after you get saved,

you isolate yourself to do the following alone:

1- Hold fast to your confession of hope alone

2- Put yourself in remembrance of God’s faithfulness alone

3- Stir yourself up in love and good works alone

4- Keep your own assembly aloneExhort yourself alone.

This indeed is not God’s best for you. Hence, it’s good to become a member of the local church [the Body of Christ]!

Discussion Question

Discuss the implications of believers isolating themselves from other members of the Body of Christ.
